Standard 14: Budget - Have a board-approved annual budget for its current fiscal year, outlining projected expenses for major program activities, fund raising, and administration.

Talento Bilingue de Houston (TBH Center) does not meet this Standard because:

  • A functional budget was not submitted for review.

Standard 16: Annual Report - Have an annual report available to all, on request, that includes: (a) the organization's mission statement, (b) a summary of the past year's program service accomplishments, (c) a roster of the officers and members of the board of directors, (d) financial information that includes (i) total income in the past fiscal year, (ii) expenses in the same program, fund raising and administrative categories as in the financial statements, and (iii) ending net assets.

Founded in 1977 as a small troupe known as "Teatro Bilingüe de Houston" (Bilingual Theater of Houston), this non-profit organization has evolved into a Latino Cultural Arts Center that offers a year-round series of performing arts and exhibits, alongside educational programming such as ongoing multidisciplinary workshops, a summer arts camp for children, and school touring productions. During the 2012-13 season, TBH presented 14 multidisciplinary performing arts productions, each reaching approximately 250 audience members during each presentation. Approximately 8 new exhibitions were featured during the 2013-14 season, which complimented the productions. Approximately 125 youth (80 families) aged 6-13 participate in an annual 10-week multidisciplinary camp with dance, music, theatre arts, filmmaking, and crafts.
