The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA (the "SPCA") is a nonprofit animal welfare organization whose mission is to provide a safe environment for the lost, abandoned and homeless animals of the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, and place them in good homes. In addition, we strive to set a standard of excellence and leadership in shelter animal care, human education and progressive animal welfare programs. The SPCA continues to save all the animals that come through our doors that can be saved, with the exception being those animals too ill to save or with serious aggression issues that may pose a public health and safety risk
