Stated Purpose: 1) To provide education in rowing skills to youth, adaptive rowers and other beginners in the Louisville area, particularly those youth and other groups who have not traditionally been given access to such educational programs. The Corporation may construct, manage, rent, lease, purchase and maintain facilities and equipment that support this purpose. 2) To educate youth and the general public concerning good health and physical fitness through rowing. 3) To promote interest in and awareness of the benefits of rowing.

Greater Louisville Rowing Foundation does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 7: Board Approval of Written Report on Effectiveness - Submit to the organization's governing body, for its approval, a written report that outlines the results of the aforementioned performance and effectiveness assessment and recommendations for future actions.

The board has not completed an assessment of organizational effectiveness within the past two years.

Programs

              

Membership in the Foundation's Louisville Rowing Club and Louisville Adaptive Rowing includes non-disabled individuals as well as individuals with disabilities that are capable of learning the techniques of rowing. They are given the opportunity to learn to row recreationally or competitively. The Club's Junior Rowing Program consists of high school students from the Louisville Metro area. The Masters program of the Louisville Rowing Club consists of adults learning the art of rowing for personal health and well-being.
