Stated Purpose: Adelante Hispanic Achievers is a nonprofit and volunteer- based organization chartered to provide opportunities for Hispanic youth and their families to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to function cross-culturally and to contribute to society as informed and pro-active citizens. Adelante is the only organization in Louisville with the sole purpose to provide educational resources and support to Hispanic youth and families, and has been a JCPS Endorsed Site since 2008. The organization's goals are to encourage Hispanic youth to set and meet high personal, educational, and career goals and to increase parental involvement in their children’s education and future.

Programs

              

Starting in 6th grade, Adelante guides students through a successful high school path, preparing them to graduate career and college ready. Adelante does this through intensive individual and group instruction, one-on one tutoring and mentoring, career exposure, and opportunities for community service. The organization engages community professionals (including Hispanic leaders) to support its students and imprint them with professional career options otherwise unimaginable due to their families’ socio-economic status. All programs are provided free of charge and include: 1) Mentoring & Enrichment 2) Adelante Ambassadors leadership program 3) College Corps 4) College & University Allies (college placement and scholarships) 5) After School Tutoring. All programs include parent involvement and academic placement and guidance through the education system from middle school through college applications. Students in Adelante for more than three years average a 3.39 GPA. Also, they maintain a 96% JCPS school attendance rate, a 100% high school graduation rate and a 100% rate to college for Adelante graduates.
