Programs

Friends School serves a diverse population of learners in an inclusive setting. About 40% of the school’s students have identified special needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, anxiety, emotional and behavioral disorders, and other developmental delays. Unlike other schools who segregate students with special needs into self-contained classrooms, Friends School educates students of all abilities in all grades and classrooms. All children and families are welcome at Friends School and the school recognizes that every single person has something valuable to contribute to the community. Serving students ages 6 weeks through 8th grade, Friends School provides a challenging academic, social, and behavioral program aimed at the whole child. With small class sizes, highly educated and experienced teachers and special needs professionals, and a commitment to meeting each child’s individual needs, Friends School is a truly unique learning community.
