House of Ruth provides housing and support services to nearly 60 households in which someone has HIV/AIDS and came to us homeless or at risk of homelessness. Seventeen of these families live in single-family properties that we own and maintain. For our Housing Program, the purpose is to help residents eliminate barriers that have kept them from getting and maintaining permanent housing. We also own and maintain Glade House, a 5,500 square foot emergency and short-term shelter for up to 12 homeless adults with HIV/AIDS. Staffed 24/7, Glade offers a safe, drug-free community living environment that includes intensive case management, substance abuse treatment, and mental health therapy. The purpose is to help residents remove any barriers to finding and keeping permanent housing that is safe and affordable. We also offer case management and crisis intervention, plus emergency financial assistance for transportation, rent and utilities, and apartment rental deposits, to an additional more than 600 men, women, and children not in our Housing and Glade House Programs.
