Louisville Urban League programs include Workforce Development, Youth Development & Education, and Housing Counseling and financial education services, as follows: Workforce Development Counseling & Placement Services--One-on-one guidance and assistance to help clients find employment that best matches their skills and abilities. Training and Development--Provides employability skills and specialized training opportunities that are essential for today's workplace. Mature Worker Program helps low income persons aged 55 and older to obtain job skills through paid training at local non-profits. Youth Development & Education Project Ready-- A leadership development program for middle school students that offers youth concrete experiences to foster personal visions of success and self-sufficiency. Urban Youth Golf Program (UYGP) -- A golf and academic enhancement initiative promoting opportunity, increased self-esteem and confidence for minority and at-risk youth. Street Academy --An out-of-school time program for at risk 4th and 5th grade African American boys to help increase attendance, improve academic performance, decrease suspensions. The program is operated at 4 JCPS elementary schools. Housing and Neighborhood Revitalizations Budgeting & Credit--Counseling--Assists clients in establishing working budgets and debt repayment plans. CreditSmart Workshops--Assists clients in establishing working budgets and debt repayment plans. Housing Counseling & Development Services --Helps families and individuals better their housing situations. Each program serves to educate participants and help them be successful in handling their housing needs. Rental Readiness--Prepares prospective renters regarding the ins and outs of becoming good tenants. Home Ownership Training Program--Comprehensive education program that prepares clients for home ownership Foreclosure Counseling--Assists clients in developing strategies to correct mortgage delinquencies and avoid the fear of losing their home.
