Community Chest, Inc. (CCI) has as its primary goal ensuring that everyone has what they need to not only survive, but to thrive. Towards that end, Community Chest's principal service activities fall into two categories: (1) direct services, and (2) systemic advocacy and technical assistance. In regards to the direct services it provides, CCI provides "soup to nuts" programs including a food closet, thrift store, classroom on wheels program, before and after school programs for elementary school students and teenagers, summer programs, comprehensive counseling services including domestic violence and substance abuse, emergency monetary aid, employment services, and technical assistance and training on a number of relevant topics related to community mobilization, literacy, service learning, and more. All told, CCI's service programs touch the lives of upwards of thousands of Nevadans, primarily in the rural counties of Storey and Lyon. As well, Community Chest's programs are known for their integrity, delivering results, and changing communities for the better. As such, CCI staff also provide technical assistance and support to other nonprofits and communities through serving on the boards of sister agencies, directly facilitating efforts in other communities designed to support the development of needed social and other capital, and leading and participating in a number of advocacy activities.

For the fiscal year ended December 31, 2015, CCI's program expenses were:
